I am a 39 year old female diagnosed with a large protrusion in
my abdoman..previously diagnosed as a spigelian hernia. My mother
died 28 years ago of a brain aneurysm. I had surgery 5 months ago
to repair the "hernia", however, the protrusion in my
abdoman has returned and has become more painful. Any thoughts.........???

I am a 39 year old Female. My mother died 28 years ago from a brain
aneurysm. In Oct. last year I had surgery to repair a spigelian
hernia. The doctor told me this was very rare and the fact that
I had a large protrusion in my abdoman, that "rolled"
when I moved made it even more rare. Five months later the protrusion
has reappeared and become more painful (it is above the naval to
the right side) Do you think this might be an aneurysm? Could ther
be a link between my mother and me? I've seen a doctor ( again )
and would appreciate any information from you. Thanks Mary Ann
